Dan Powers is the Chief Executive Officer of Children's Advocacy Center of Collin County. He is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Supervisor and brings over 38 years of experience in the fields of child abuse, sex offender management, and family violence. He first joined the Children's Advocacy Center in February of 2000 as Clinical Director. Over the years, he has held multiple leadership roles before assuming the CEO position. Recognized nationally as an expert and speaker, Dan frequently presents topics related to the multidisciplinary response to child abuse. Dan has served as an expert witness in both state and federal courts and has provided testimony before Texas legislative committees. The governor has appointed Dan on two occasions to state agency boards addressing sex offender treatment and violent sex offender management. Additionally, he is the past chairman of the Texas Children's Justice Act Task Force and currently serves on the Texas Statewide Multidisciplinary Team.
