2026 RWGNT Scholarship Program

 



RWGNT scholarships are awarded annually and benefit outstanding young women from Greater North Texas. Applications are reviewed through a rigorous selection process that evaluates each student based on their academic performance, significant involvement in extra curricular activities, volunteerism and community service.

Our communities, both residential and business, have a long history of investing in our future by rewarding exceptionalism with RWGNT playing a key role in this effort through our annual scholarship programs.

2026 Scholarship DEADLINE for Submission is March 31, 2026

2026 Scholarship Application Criteria
  1. Applicant must be a female, high school senior pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 75 hours of community service during her for years of high school.
  3. Applicant must have maintained a 3.0 GPA or better during her four years in high school, don a 4.0 scale.
A complete application must include all of the following items
  • A complete official Scholarship Application Form.
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation. At least one (1) letter must be from a current or former teacher and/or guidance counselor. The remaining two recommendation letters must be from non-family members.
  • An official transcript from your current high school.
  • A typed essay of of a minimum of 350 words but not to exceed 500 words, containing one's own, original thoughts without artificial assistance, on the following topic:

    • "As a young Republican woman in today’s political climate, I often face unique academic, social, and cultural challenges."
    •  
    • In a well-organized and thoughtfully researched essay, please describe the obstacles you have encountered in expressing or advancing conservative principles and explain how these experiences have shaped your intellectual development, leadership skills, and personal convictions.

    • Additionally, please discuss how you intend to use your education and future career to promote, protect, and 
      advance the principles of the Republican platform.
      Your response should demonstrate a clear connection
      between your experiences, your values, and your long-term goals.
Application Evaluation Criteria

Applications and essays will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
  • Academic Excellence: Applicants must demonstrates strong analytical writing, clarity of thought, and intellectual depth.
  • Specificity: Applicants must use concrete examples, personal experiences, and real-world applications.
  • Connection to Conservative Principles: Applicants must clearly aligns experiences and goals with Republican values and the organization’s mission.
  • Evidence-Based Reasoning: Applicants must effectively incorporate and cite credible, authoritative sources.
  • Authenticity: Applicant's ideas must reflect genuine passion, integrity, and personal conviction.
  • Leadership & Vision: Applicants must shows initiative, resilience, and a clear plan for future impact.

Shirley Melton Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must:
Be a U.S. citizen, and
reside within US Congressional District 3

Sue Reeves Scholarship
$3000

 
Applicant must:
Be a U.S. citizen, and
reside within Texas Senate Dist. 12 or Senate Dist. 30
